With projects covering many disciplines we continue to produce excellent content for visual effects, animation and immersive digital experiences.
The Sauce group started in 1991 as 2D Films. In 1996 due to expansion into Post Production and Corporate communication the company was rebranded as Sauce which incorporated Sauce Holdings, Sauce Post, Sauce Limited, Sauce Films, and now Sauce FX Studios. With offices in Wellington, Auckland and Los Angeles, Sauce continues to provide international quality digital content to the global market.
With the Sauce Group’s commitment to the US market we have appointed Kim Lavery as our VFX Producer to head Sauce FX Studios. Based in Los Angeles, the new studios represent our continued commitment to supporting our clients with the best people, craft, techniques and personal service. Sauce has well over 20 years of production management and producing experience to draw upon, Kim is both well placed to meet those needs in all details as well as being on the ground to handle things face to face.

Kim Lavery has been in the Industry for over 20 years; from NBC News Anchor/Reporter/Videographer to Production Managing within Universal Studios Operations Fiims Division -to Visual Effect Producing since 1995. Kim has a wide range of experience dealing with Major Studios Executives- to include Individual Production requirements & Big Picture IP goals. |

Mr Pencil (blue pencil) narrator was created to take the viewers through time
in an entertaining and informative way.
The blue pencil has been the traditional animators sketching and blocking tool
as it didn’t show up under the clean up black lines when photocopied.

Starting his career trained as a design majoring in illustration, Marten first passion was
traditional animation. After securing his apprenticeship in Auckland he forged a
successful career in Australia final serving 3 years at Disney in Sydney as a character
animator on such projects as "Aladdin – Return of Jafar". Returning to New Zealand
to raise his young family he carried on as an animator on both commercials and TV serial work.
